A new market in Tea Tree Gully is providing an exciting platform for young South Australian entrepreneurs to develop their brands and styles.
The Winter Warmer Market is the first of its kind in Modbury, aiming to build a sense of community through promoting and supporting local artists and businesses
An initiative of HIVE 12 Twenty-five, Coordinator Cathy O’Loughlin says the community is vibrant and culturally diverse but lacking in markets.
‘HIVE’s Winter Warmer Market hopes to fill a gap in this area and give the community an outing on the weekend where they can access quality arts and crafts while enjoying home made soup and hot coffee,’ says Cathy.
UniSA, Marketing and Management student, Emily Gillett has been working with HIVE to market the event through the elective, Community Service Learning Project.
Being involved in event management and planning has been a first for Emily, and although she felt overwhelmed to begin with, she says it has definitely been a worthwhile experience.
‘I didn’t realise the magnitude of the project at the start, but I soon found my feet,’ says Emily.
